Supported Independent Living (SILs)

Finding the Right Home

Your home should be a place where you feel safe, comfortable, and supported to live the life you choose.

At Health & Community Services, we don’t simply match people to available vacancies—we take the time to find the home that best suits your needs, preferences, lifestyle, and goals. We carefully consider compatibility with other residents, your support requirements, accessibility needs, preferred location, community connections, and the environment where you’ll feel most at home.

Our homes are modern, welcoming, and thoughtfully maintained to provide a high standard of living. Depending on the property, features may include:

  • Modern, comfortable private bedrooms
  • Spacious shared living and dining areas
  • Smart TVs with streaming services such as Netflix
  • High-speed Wi-Fi
  • Air conditioning and heating
  • Fully equipped kitchens and laundries
  • Accessible bathrooms and mobility-friendly layouts
  • Wide doorways and assistive equipment where required
  • Secure outdoor areas for relaxation, gardening, and socialising

We continually invest in our homes to ensure they remain safe, comfortable, and functional, giving you the confidence to live as independently as possible.

Our goal is to provide more than accommodation—we create homes where people can build meaningful relationships, develop life skills, participate in their community, and enjoy a fulfilling and independent lifestyle.

24/7 Support from Dedicated Staff

Participants receive round-the-clock support from our trained and compassionate team of support workers, nurses, and allied health professionals. Support may include personal care and daily living assistance, medication management and health monitoring, meal preparation and household chores, emotional support and companionship, and night-time supervision and 24hr crisis response.

Personalised Support That Grows With You

Every participant receives an individualised support plan that is developed in partnership with you, your family or representatives, Support Coordinator, and allied health team. Your plan reflects your goals, preferences, strengths, and support needs and is regularly reviewed to ensure it continues to meet your changing circumstances.

An Active and Connected Lifestyle

We believe life is about more than receiving support—it’s about enjoying meaningful experiences, building friendships, and being part of your community.

Our SIL homes offer a wide range of social, recreational, and community activities tailored to participants’ interests and goals. These may include:

  • Group cooking and shared meals
  • Movie and games nights
  • Gardening and outdoor activities
  • Arts, crafts, and creative programs
  • Shopping and café outings
  • Community events and local excursions
  • Volunteering and skill-building opportunities
  • Exercise, health, and wellbeing activities

We encourage every participant to pursue their interests, develop new skills, build confidence, and enjoy a fulfilling, connected life within their community.
